Maestro Kamanche and Baglama player, Mark Eliyahu is one of Israel’s leading and most influential World Music performers, composers and arrangers.
Mark is the son of the renowned composer Piris Eliyahu. Mark has composed, arranged and produced music for various projects, artists, orchestras, films, ballets and theatre. Mark won The Ophir and The Jerusalem prizes both in 2012.
The Mark Eliyahu Ensemble performs all over the world on the most prestigious stages. Mark has performed with orchestras and leading musicians including: Alim Qasimov, Vieux Farka Toure, Andrea Molino, Ross Dali, Sevda, and Rita. Mark has released two solo albums (“Voices of Judea” and “Sands”) and several albums with his father. He has also performed as a soloist on many studio recordings with various artists.
In 2002 Mark was chosen by The European Community and Benetton to represent Israel in Music.
